1. Customizable Grace Periods for Punch In and Punch Out

Institutions can now define a grace period (MM:SS format) for both punch-in and punch-out times. This feature allows for a reasonable buffer before a staff member is marked as late or recorded for early departure.

For example, with a punch-in time of 9:00 AM and a grace period of 00:12:05, late entry is recorded only after 09:12:05 AM.

Similarly, for a punch-out time of 5:00 PM and a grace period of 00:03:03, early exit is recorded for punches before 04:56:57 PM.

This configurable grace period ensures institutions can uphold punctuality expectations while accommodating minor delays.

2. Institution-Specific Attendance Policy Configuration

Digiicampus now enables institutions to define what constitutes a late entry or early exit in alignment with their internal HR and compliance policies. This flexibility allows for attendance rules that are tailored to institutional culture and operational requirements.

3. Smart Filtering for Quick Oversight

Admins can now filter staff records based on Late Entry and Early Exit status directly from the Attendance Register. This enables quicker identification of patterns, helping in timely communication and follow-up.

4. Summary-Level Punctuality Insights

Want a quick overview of punctuality across your staff? The updated Attendance & Leave Summary Report now includes clear counts of Late Entries and Early Exits—making it easier to track trends by department or individuals.

5. Day-Wise Reporting for Deeper Analysis

Track attendance behaviour on a daily basis. The Attendance Day-wise Report now displays Late Entry & Early Exit status, helping administrators spot repeat occurrences and take proactive steps to maintain discipline.

6. Visibility at the Individual Profile Level

HR and department heads can now view each staff member’s Late Entry & Early Exit history directly in their profile. This information can assist in performance reviews, feedback sessions, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies.

How to Enable the Feature?

To get started:

• Toggle ON: Track Late Entry & Early Exit from your Digiicampus settings.
• Configure the grace period: Enter desired buffer times for Punch In and Punch Out in MM:SS format.

Note: Depending on whether your attendance policy is based on punch times or total duration, the system will refer to either attendance rules or work timings to evaluate buffer periods.

Once configured, the status for Late Entry or Early Exit will be automatically reflected in the Attendance Register, regardless of how the punch was recorded (web, app, biometric, etc.).
