At Digii, every journey is unique—but some stories stand out for their unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and growth. Today, we’re proud to spotlight one such journey—that of Vijay Kulkarni, whose contributions over the past three years have played a pivotal role in ensuring Digii delivers nothing less than excellence.
About Vijay Kulkarni!
Driven by curiosity and a passion for perfection, Vijay Kulkarni is someone who doesn’t just test software—he breaks it, learns from it, and rebuilds it stronger. Specialising in automation, API, and performance testing, Vijay has mastered the art of catching issues before they reach the user—making him a true guardian of quality at Digii.

When not immersed in test scripts or debugging automation pipelines, he enjoys watching web series and playing chess—activities that, much like QA itself, involve strategy, foresight, and patience.
What’s Your Story Behind Joining Digii?
When I joined Digii, I was looking for more than just a new role—I wanted to be part of something meaningful. A place where quality wasn’t just a department, but a mindset. And Digii turned out to be exactly that.
In my current role as Senior QA Engineer, I lead both manual and automation testing across critical modules. My responsibilities include designing test strategies, integrating with CI/CD pipelines, and building a quality-first culture. I also contribute to our automation framework and mentor new QA team members. It’s a role that keeps me on my toes and fuels my passion for testing every single day.
What was your first project or task at Digii, and how did it go?
My first project at Digii was the manual validation of the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) module. It was more than just writing and executing test cases—it required me to understand the academic logic behind OBE. That project laid a strong foundation and gave me early insights into how Digii approaches complex educational workflows.
What are some key skills or knowledge you’ve gained during your time here?
The past few years have been a crash course in growth. Here are a few skills and tools I’ve picked up along the way:
- Advanced Test Automation using Selenium, TestNG, and Maven.
- CI/CD Integration through GitHub Actions, Docker, and Allure reporting.
- Cross-browser Testing with tools like Selenoid and LambdaTest.
- API & Load Testing using Postman, Rest Assured, and JMeter.
And most importantly, I’ve learned the value of clear communication, ownership, and mentorship—the soft skills that are just as critical in QA as the technical ones.
How Has the Last 3 Years’ Journey Been at Digii?
If I had to sum up my Digii journey so far, I’d call it a mix of challenges, growth, and deep fulfilment. I started as someone who primarily executed test cases—and today, I’m proud to say I help design full-fledged testing strategies. I’ve also taken ownership of automation testing across key areas, which has been both exciting and rewarding.
One of the best things about Digii is its transparent, feedback-driven culture. It’s a space that encourages you to try, fail, learn, and evolve. That mindset has made all the difference for me.
What were the best moments you had on this journey?
Some of my proudest moments have come from introducing new tools or optimising existing test flows—and getting recognised for it. Whether it was reducing test execution time or integrating Allure reports into our CI/CD pipeline, each win was amplified by the incredible support of my peers and leads.
I’ve also learned to embrace setbacks. Every failed test, every broken build—it was never the end. Each was an opportunity to learn, pivot, and improve. That’s one of the biggest lessons I’ve taken from my time here.
What is Your Vision for Digii?
Looking ahead, I envision Digii as a quality-first, high-performing product that continues to lead in the higher education space. My vision is to build a scalable automation framework that supports faster, more reliable releases and promotes shift-left testing—where quality checks happen earlier in the development cycle.
More than that, I see QA at Digii evolving into a strategic enabler—not just catching bugs, but preventing them; not just testing features, but accelerating product excellence.
Being part of this journey has been nothing short of transformative. I’m proud of what I’ve built, grateful for what I’ve learned, and excited for what’s to come.
Vijay’s unwavering commitment and perseverance have been integral to Digii. We appreciate his efforts and wish him continued success and growth!
